EXPERIENCED ENOUGH FOR THE LARGEST PROJECTS - SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE
Established in 1911, J W Brooke opened on Lake Lothing, behind the busy port of Lowestoft as a builder of motor launches, yachts, high quality specialist commercial vessels and small naval vessels, a tradition that continued until the 1970’s.
Nationalised in 1977 and taken private in 1985, Brooke went on to build trawlers, tugs, naval and oil field supply vessels. As regular builders of gentlemen’s yachts and motor launches since the early 1900’s, during the burgeoning yacht market of the 1980’s and 90’s Brooke established a global reputation for producing large vessels in aluminium and steel, built and outfitted to the highest standards. In association with the finest boat designers,
including the legendary Jon Bannenberg, Brooke built a number of yachts in the 30-60 metre range including Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic Challengers I and II, Stefaren, Chamar, and many other fine vessels which are still afloat today.
The 37m Beaugeste (ex- Beaupré) was built by Brooke Marine in 1989 for her designer Jon Bannenberg.
